The Marrickville Hotel was born as a group of independent bar operators looked to fill a gap in the market, namely, the place they most wanted to have a beer.  

Finding a site in an empty $2 shop, the search for a name began. After finding that the name, which had previously existed at a site up the road, was no longer registered, the conversation quickly turned, could we really, just start a pub? 

TMH maintains the ethos and attention to detail of a small bar, with the ease and comfortability of a traditional Australian hotel. With six beers on tap and specialising in cocktails, everyone’s base is covered. That’s why we call it Home of the Drink  

A selection of antipasto and toasted sandwiches served all night long mean there is always something good to eat, while our partnership with neighbouring restaurant legend, Pho Phd has a full menu of Vietnamese food delivered to your table for dinner and weekend lunch.
